Pickup & Delivery

We come to you. Free Saturday pickup and Sunday delivery across the Perth metro area.

Do you collect from my home?

Yes. We offer free Saturday pickup and Sunday delivery across the Greater Perth metro area. We collect your mower, chainsaw, brushcutter, generator or other outdoor power equipment from your home, repair it in our Osborne Park workshop, and return it the following weekend.

You do not need to be home as long as the equipment is accessible. Just let us know where it will be when you book.

What suburbs do you cover?

We cover the entire Perth metropolitan area and the Rockingham region. This includes the northern suburbs, central Perth, the western suburbs, eastern suburbs, southern Perth, and the southern coastal corridor through to Rockingham and Baldivis.

If you are unsure whether we cover your area, just call (08) 9444 1284 or use the booking form and we will confirm.

How do I book a pickup?

The fastest way is to book online through our scheduling system. You can also call (08) 9444 1284 and press 2 for repairs. We will confirm a Saturday morning pickup window and an estimated return Sunday the following weekend.

Book a pickup online

Is pickup and delivery really free?

Yes. There are no transport fees, no fuel surcharges and no surprises. The flat fee you pay covers the service or repair plus pickup and delivery. We built the model this way because we know how inconvenient it is to load a mower or generator into the back of a car.

How long does the whole process take?

Most jobs run on a one week cycle. We collect on Saturday morning, complete the work in our workshop during the week, and deliver back the following Sunday. If parts need to be ordered or the repair is more complex, we will call you to discuss timing before proceeding.

Can you fast track urgent repairs?

Yes. We offer jump the queue options for next day or immediate bench priority repairs, subject to technician availability and parts on hand. This is especially useful for commercial landscapers who need their equipment back on the job quickly. Just mention it when you book.

Pricing

Flat fees, no surprises. What you are quoted is what you pay.

How much does a lawn mower service cost?

A general lawn mower service is a flat fee of $250 including free pickup and delivery anywhere in the Perth metro area. This covers a full inspection, oil change, spark plug replacement, blade sharpening or replacement assessment, air filter check, fuel system clean and a test run.

How much does a cylinder mower service cost?

Residential cylinder mower service is a flat fee of $350. Commercial cylinder mower service is $450. Both prices include pickup and delivery, full sharpening and setting of the cylinder, bottom blade adjustment and a complete service of the engine.

Cylinder mowers are the speciality we are known for in Perth. We sharpen and set cylinder mowers for many of the city's premier bowling clubs, croquet greens and high end residential lawns.

How much does a generator service cost?

Generator servicing is quoted based on the size and brand of the unit. Most portable petrol generators (1-5kVA) fall into a similar pricing band as a standard mower service. Larger or diesel units, and any units needing diagnostic or rewind work, are quoted after inspection. Call us for a price before we collect.

Will you quote before doing the work?

Always. For flat fee services like a standard mower or cylinder mower service, the price is set up front and there are no add ons. For diagnostic repairs (engine faults, electrical issues, gearbox repairs) we inspect first, then call you with a written quote before we start work. You decide whether to proceed.

What if I do not want to proceed after the diagnosis?

No pressure, no hard sell. If you choose not to proceed after a diagnosis, your machine will be returned disassembled. There is a small inspection fee that covers the time spent diagnosing, which we will explain when you book.

Do you offer payment plans?

For larger repairs and equipment purchases we accept all major payment methods including credit cards. For new equipment purchases above a certain threshold we can also discuss finance options. Contact the showroom on (08) 9444 1284 for current finance partners.

Lawn Mower Repairs

Petrol, battery and self propelled mowers. All major brands. Workshop based, not mobile.

What brands of lawn mower do you repair?

We service and repair all major brands including Honda, Victa, Masport, Bushranger, Echo, Shindaiwa, EGO Power+, Briggs & Stratton, Husqvarna, Stihl, Rover, Greenfield and many more. We are an authorised dealer and warranty service agent for Honda, Victa, Masport, Bushranger, Echo, Shindaiwa and EGO Power+.

My lawn mower will not start. Can you fix it?

Almost always, yes. The most common causes are stale fuel (a single Perth summer is enough to gum up a carburettor), a fouled spark plug, a blocked air filter, or compression loss from worn rings. We diagnose the cause, quote the repair and have most non start jobs sorted within the standard one week cycle.

How often should I service my lawn mower?

Once a year is the right cadence for most domestic mowers in Perth. The Perth climate is hard on small engines, sandy soil wears blades quickly, and an annual service catches problems before they become expensive. Commercial operators should service every 100 hours of use or every six months, whichever comes first.

Do you repair ride on mowers?

We do not currently repair ride on mowers or large industrial equipment in our Osborne Park workshop. We do sell ride on mowers from leading brands, and we can recommend specialists for ride on repairs.

Do you repair battery powered mowers?

Yes. Battery mowers are the fastest growing part of our repair workshop. We service EGO Power+, Honda battery, Bushranger battery and most major battery platforms. We can diagnose battery faults, motor faults, charger faults and electronic control issues.

Do you sharpen and replace mower blades?

Yes. Blade sharpening or replacement is included in every standard service. If you only need a blade sharpen between services, just bring it in to our Osborne Park workshop during business hours. No booking needed.

Generator Repairs

Portable, camping, backup and trade generators. All major brands.

What brands of generator do you service?

We service all major brands of portable petrol and diesel generators including Honda, Yamaha, Dunlite, Briggs & Stratton, GenTrax, Cromtech, Kipor, Powermate, Pramac and many more. We are particularly experienced with Honda inverter generators (EU series).

My generator will not start. What is wrong?

Most non starting generators come down to one of three things: stale fuel blocking the carburettor, a flat or faulty battery (on electric start models), or a fouled spark plug. Less commonly, the AVR (automatic voltage regulator) or stator winding has failed. We diagnose, quote and repair, with most jobs returned the following week.

My generator runs but produces no power. Can you fix that?

Yes. No output usually points to an AVR fault, a brush fault or a stator winding problem. These need workshop testing and the repair cost varies depending on parts. We will diagnose and provide a written quote before proceeding.

Do you service generators under warranty?

Yes for the brands we are an authorised warranty agent for. Warranty servicing requires proof of purchase. If we are not the warranty agent for your specific brand, we can still complete out of warranty repairs at our standard rates.

How often should I service my generator?

For backup or emergency generators that sit idle, we recommend a service every 12 months and a 10 to 15 minute test run every month to keep the engine lubricated. For frequently used generators (camping, trade, hire), service every 100 hours of operation. Generators that sit unused for long periods are the ones that fail when you need them most.

Cylinder Mowers

Sandersons is one of the few specialists in Perth still hand sharpening and setting cylinder mowers.

What is the difference between cylinder and rotary mower service?

Cylinder mowers cut with a scissor action between a spinning cylinder of blades and a fixed bottom blade. They produce the cleanest, lowest cut and are used on bowling greens, croquet lawns and high end residential lawns. Servicing a cylinder mower requires removing the cylinder, hand sharpening each blade, setting the gap to the bottom blade with feeler gauges, and back lapping. It is precision work that takes longer and costs more than a rotary service.

How much does a cylinder mower service cost?

Residential cylinder mower service is $350 flat fee. Commercial is $450. Both include pickup and delivery anywhere in the Perth metro area, full cylinder sharpening and setting, bottom blade adjustment and a complete engine service.

Do you service vintage and Scott Bonnar cylinder mowers?

Yes. We service Scott Bonnar, Mountfield, Greenfield, Masport cylinder, Bushranger cylinder and most other vintage and current cylinder mower brands. Parts for some vintage models can take longer to source, but we have decades of experience keeping the older mowers running.

How often should a cylinder mower be sharpened?

For a residential cylinder mower used weekly during the growing season, once a year is right. For commercial use on bowling greens or croquet lawns, two to four times a year depending on hours of use and the abrasiveness of the local soil.

Chainsaws & Other Equipment

If it has a small engine and lives outdoors, we probably service it.

Do you sharpen chainsaw chains?

Yes. Chain sharpening is a walk in service at our Osborne Park workshop. No booking needed, just bring in the chain or the whole saw during business hours and we will have it sharp again, usually same day.

What other equipment do you repair?

Lawn mowers, ride on mowers (sales only), chainsaws, brushcutters, line trimmers, hedge trimmers, edgers, blowers and vacuums, electric mulchers, petrol shredders, high pressure cleaners, water pumps, log splitters, generators, and most other small engine outdoor power equipment.

Do you repair high pressure cleaners?

Yes. Petrol and electric pressure cleaners across most major brands. Common faults include pump seal failures, unloader valve issues and engine non start (on petrol units). Pickup and delivery available.

Do you repair water pumps?

Yes. Petrol water pumps including transfer pumps, fire fighting pumps and trash pumps. We also stock seals, impellers and common parts for the major brands.

Brands & Warranty

What brands are you an authorised dealer for?

We are an authorised dealer and warranty service agent for Honda Power Equipment, Victa, Masport, Bushranger, Echo, Shindaiwa, EGO Power+, and Stiga. We also stock and service equipment from Briggs & Stratton, Yamaha, Dunlite, Greenfield, Rover, FJDynamics and many more.

Do you do warranty repairs?

Yes for the brands we are an authorised warranty agent for. Bring proof of purchase and we will assess the fault and process the warranty claim with the manufacturer on your behalf. Most warranty repairs are completed at no cost to you.

Do you offer a workmanship guarantee?

All repairs include a 30 day workmanship guarantee for peace of mind. If the same fault returns within 30 days of pickup, we will fix it again at no charge.

Are you a franchise?

No. We are a family owned independent workshop, trading in Perth since 1975. That independence means we can recommend the best brand for your needs without bias toward a single manufacturer.

Spare Parts

Do you sell spare parts?

Yes. We carry a large range of genuine and aftermarket parts including blades, belts, filters, spark plugs, carburettors, pull cords, recoil starters, catchers, chains, bars and consumables. Walk in to the Osborne Park showroom or call ahead to check stock.

Can you order in a part you do not have?

Almost always. We have supplier relationships across all major brands. If we do not have a part in stock, we will source and order it for you, usually within a few days. For obscure or vintage parts, we will tell you up front whether sourcing is realistic.

What is the part number for my mower or generator?

The part number depends on the brand, model and serial number of your machine. Bring the model number to our showroom or call (08) 9444 1284 with the model and we will identify the right part. Most modern mowers and generators have the model and serial details on a plate on the chassis or the engine.

Do you ship parts Australia wide?

Yes. Many parts are available through our online store with delivery Australia wide. For parts not currently listed online, call us and we will arrange shipment.

Sales & New Equipment

What new equipment do you sell?

Lawn mowers (push, self propelled, ride on, robotic), chainsaws, brushcutters, line trimmers, hedge trimmers, blowers and vacuums, generators (portable, inverter and backup), pressure cleaners, water pumps, log splitters and a full range of accessories and consumables.

Can I buy online?

Yes. Our online store is open 24/7 with delivery Australia wide. You can also click and collect from our Osborne Park showroom.

Can I see the equipment before buying?

Absolutely. Our Osborne Park showroom carries live stock of most major lines. Come in, see the machine, ask questions, and our staff will help you compare options. We will tell you honestly which model fits your block, your budget and your usage.

Do you set up the equipment when I buy it?

Yes. Every petrol mower, chainsaw and brushcutter sold from our showroom is set up, fuelled, tested and demonstrated to you before you take it home. We want you to know how to use it safely and confidently.

What is the best lawn mower for Perth conditions?

Perth lawns are mostly couch, kikuyu and buffalo grass on sandy soil. The best mowers for these conditions have strong torque, easy to clean decks (the sand is murder on bearings), and reliable air filtration. Honda Buffalo and Honda HRU series are perennial favourites for Perth, as are the Victa and Masport contractor models. Come in and we will recommend based on your block size and grass type.

About Sandersons

How long has Sandersons been in business?

Sandersons has been trading in Perth since 1975. We are family owned, family operated, and currently in our second generation of ownership. Many of our customers are second or third generation themselves.

Where is your workshop?

Our main workshop and showroom is on Main Street in Osborne Park. We service the entire Perth metro area through our free Saturday pickup and Sunday delivery network, so you do not need to come in unless you want to. For walk in customers, we are open weekdays during business hours.

Why should I use Sandersons instead of a mobile mechanic?

Mobile mechanics are good for quick fixes in your driveway. We are a workshop. That means proper diagnostic equipment, proper tools, parts on hand, factory training across multiple brands, and the time to do the job properly rather than rushing between appointments. For warranty work, complex faults or anything beyond a basic tune up, a workshop is the right answer.

Why should I use Sandersons instead of a big box store like Bunnings?

Big box stores sell mowers. We sell, service and repair them, and we have done it for fifty years. When something breaks, you can come back to us. The advice you get from our staff is from technicians who have actually pulled apart hundreds of these machines, not seasonal retail staff. And the brands we carry are the contractor grade lines that big box stores do not stock.
