What a pressure cleaner service actually involves
Pressure cleaners cop a hammering. Pumps, hoses, fittings, engines, motors, all working under high pressure for hours at a time. Most jobs that come in are one of these:
Pump service & repair
The pump is the heart of the unit. We strip it, check for wear, replace what needs replacing, and pressure test before it leaves the bench.
Loss of pressure
If your cleaner is pulsing, surging, or just not building pressure like it used to, we'll find the cause and sort it.
Leaks & drips
Water leaking from the pump, the gun, the hose connections, or the lance. Usually a worn seal or fitting. Quick fix once we've got it on the bench.
Routine servicing
Pressure cleaners need regular maintenance to keep running properly. Most people skip it. We'll bring yours back up to spec.
Hose, lance & gun repair
The bits you handle take the most punishment. Leaking guns, damaged lances, split hoses. Genuine replacements where needed.
Engine & motor service
Petrol engine won't start? Electric motor cutting out? We service the engine end, not just the pump.
A note for Bibra Lake pressure cleaner owners
Bibra Lake is a mix of established residential, beachfront blocks, and trades running out of home workshops. Plenty of cleaners and detailers along the coast, plus the usual run of homeowners with their once-a-month patio blast.
Salt air is the recurring issue down here. The brass fittings on most pressure cleaners corrode from the outside in if you don't rinse the unit with fresh water after a coastal job. We see Bibra Lake pumps with seized swivel fittings and locked-up trigger guns more than anywhere else in the south.
Brands we service
Karcher · Gerni · Stihl · Bar · Honda · Generac · Bosch · Ryobi · AR Blue Clean
If it's a pressure cleaner and it's broken, we can have a look. Petrol or electric, residential or commercial, doesn't matter where you bought it.
Why your cleaner cuts out on hot days
Perth summers are hard on pressure cleaners. If yours mysteriously dies after 20 minutes on a 35-degree day, you're hitting thermal protection. Here's why and what to do.
Pressure cleaners generate heat. The pump compressing water generates heat. The engine or motor running generates heat. On a hot day, ambient temperature is already high. All this heat has to go somewhere.
Most pressure cleaners have thermal protection built in. Electric units have a thermal cutoff in the motor. Petrol units have heat-related cutoffs as well. When internal temperatures hit a safety threshold, the unit shuts down to protect itself.
If yours is cutting out:
- Electric unit cuts out and won't restart. Wait 15 to 30 minutes for the thermal cutoff to reset. Most do reset automatically.
- Petrol unit dies and is hard to restart. Check oil level (low oil = hot engine). Let it cool 30 minutes before retry.
- Pump gets very hot to touch. Could be running too long in bypass (trigger off too long) or insufficient water flow.
Hot weather operating tips:
- Take breaks. Run for 30 to 45 minutes, rest for 10 minutes. Lets the unit dump heat to ambient.
- Position in shade. Direct sun adds 10 to 15 degrees to the unit's external temperature.
- Run early or late. Cooler ambient temperatures, less heat stress on the unit.
- Check water flow is good. Water is the pump's coolant. Restricted flow means hotter pump.
- Don't run in bypass for long. No water flow through the pump means rapid heat buildup.
- Check the engine cooling fins (petrol units). Grass or dust packed between fins prevents cooling. Clear them out yearly.
One more thing: if your unit cuts out on a hot day and you keep restarting it without letting it cool down, you can damage the thermal protection itself. Each cycle weakens the cutoff. Eventually it fails to protect when it really needs to, and the motor or engine gets cooked.
Treat hot-day cutouts as the warning they are. The unit is telling you something. Listen.

Common questions
Do you pick up from Bibra Lake?
Yep. Pickup and delivery available across Bibra Lake. We've been running services through this part of Perth for years.
How much does a pressure cleaner repair cost?
Depends on what's wrong and what brand you've got. Once we've stripped it on the bench, we ring you with a fixed price before doing any work. No hourly charging, no surprises.
My pressure cleaner won't build pressure. Worth fixing?
Almost always yes. Most "no pressure" jobs are unloader valves, worn pump seals, or blocked nozzles. None of those are expensive fixes on a decent unit. We'll have a look and tell you straight if it's not worth it.
How often should I service my pressure cleaner?
Annual oil change at minimum on the pump end. Tradies running them daily should service the pump every 6 months. Most homeowners never service theirs, which is why pumps fail at 5 years instead of 15.
Do you service electric pressure cleaners and commercial units?
Both. Karcher K-series and Bosch electrics, all the way up to Gerni and Stihl commercial petrol units. The pump end is similar across most of them, just different sizes and pressures.
How long does a repair take?
Usually back to you within a week. If parts have to come in (some of the European brands), we'll let you know.

Easiest is the online booking on this page. Pick a slot, leave your address, done. Or ring us on (08) 9444 1284.
