What a pressure cleaner service actually involves

Pressure cleaners cop a hammering. Pumps, hoses, fittings, engines, motors, all working under high pressure for hours at a time. Most jobs that come in are one of these:

Pump service & repair

The pump is the heart of the unit. We strip it, check for wear, replace what needs replacing, and pressure test before it leaves the bench.

Loss of pressure

If your cleaner is pulsing, surging, or just not building pressure like it used to, we'll find the cause and sort it.

Leaks & drips

Water leaking from the pump, the gun, the hose connections, or the lance. Usually a worn seal or fitting. Quick fix once we've got it on the bench.

Routine servicing

Pressure cleaners need regular maintenance to keep running properly. Most people skip it. We'll bring yours back up to spec.

Hose, lance & gun repair

The bits you handle take the most punishment. Leaking guns, damaged lances, split hoses. Genuine replacements where needed.

Engine & motor service

Petrol engine won't start? Electric motor cutting out? We service the engine end, not just the pump.

A note for Bull Creek pressure cleaner owners

Bull Creek is a mix of established residential, beachfront blocks, and trades running out of home workshops. Plenty of cleaners and detailers along the coast, plus the usual run of homeowners with their once-a-month patio blast.

Salt air is the recurring issue down here. The brass fittings on most pressure cleaners corrode from the outside in if you don't rinse the unit with fresh water after a coastal job. We see Bull Creek pumps with seized swivel fittings and locked-up trigger guns more than anywhere else in the south.

Brands we service

Karcher · Gerni · Stihl · Bar · Honda · Generac · Bosch · Ryobi · AR Blue Clean

If it's a pressure cleaner and it's broken, we can have a look. Petrol or electric, residential or commercial, doesn't matter where you bought it.

Electric or petrol, honest comparison

The first big choice when buying a pressure cleaner. Both have their place. Most people choose wrong by underestimating the limits of one or the other.

Electric pressure cleaners (240V mains-powered):

  • Pros: Quieter, no fuel mixing, no exhaust, lower maintenance, easier to start, lighter, can be used indoors with proper ventilation, generally cheaper.
  • Cons: Limited by power outlet location, lower maximum pressure than petrol, motor cuts out under thermal load, smaller pump and seals, shorter overall lifespan typically.

Petrol pressure cleaners:

  • Pros: Higher pressure available, better flow rates, no power cord limitation, more durable build, replaceable pump components, longer lifespan with maintenance.
  • Cons: Loud, exhaust, fuel mixing or fuel handling, more maintenance, can't run indoors, heavier, more expensive, needs warm-up time.

Battery-powered pressure cleaners (cordless):

  • Pros: Truly portable, quiet, no cord, no fuel, low maintenance.
  • Cons: Limited runtime per charge (often 15 to 30 minutes), lower pressure than mains electric, expensive batteries, battery degrades over time, generally underpowered for serious work.

How to choose:

  1. Start with where you'll use it. If you've got mains power within hose-reach, electric is usually fine. If you need to work away from power, petrol or battery.
  2. Consider your patience for maintenance. Petrol means oil changes, fuel handling, spark plugs, air filters. If that sounds like a hassle, go electric.
  3. Think about typical job duration. Long jobs are easier on petrol units. Electric units thermal-cut on extended use.
  4. Weight and storage space. Petrol units are heavy and bigger. Make sure you've got somewhere to put it.
  5. Noise considerations. If you're cleaning early on a Sunday morning in a residential street, petrol might cause complaints.

Honest take: most homeowners are well-served by a decent electric unit. They underuse the capabilities of petrol units and overpay for capabilities they don't need. Trade and serious DIY users genuinely benefit from petrol's extra capability.

Battery cordless makes sense for specific scenarios (off-grid, occasional, very portable) but as a primary unit, the runtime limitation and battery degradation are real downsides.

Common questions

Do you pick up from Bull Creek?

Yep. Pickup and delivery available across Bull Creek. We've been running services through this part of Perth for years.

How much does a pressure cleaner repair cost?

Depends on what's wrong and what brand you've got. Once we've stripped it on the bench, we ring you with a fixed price before doing any work. No hourly charging, no surprises.

My pressure cleaner won't build pressure. Worth fixing?

Almost always yes. Most "no pressure" jobs are unloader valves, worn pump seals, or blocked nozzles. None of those are expensive fixes on a decent unit. We'll have a look and tell you straight if it's not worth it.

How often should I service my pressure cleaner?

Annual oil change at minimum on the pump end. Tradies running them daily should service the pump every 6 months. Most homeowners never service theirs, which is why pumps fail at 5 years instead of 15.

Do you service electric pressure cleaners and commercial units?

Both. Karcher K-series and Bosch electrics, all the way up to Gerni and Stihl commercial petrol units. The pump end is similar across most of them, just different sizes and pressures.

How long does a repair take?

Usually back to you within a week. If parts have to come in (some of the European brands), we'll let you know.

How do I book?

Easiest is the online booking on this page. Pick a slot, leave your address, done. Or ring us on (08) 9444 1284.
