What a pressure cleaner service actually involves
Pressure cleaners cop a hammering. Pumps, hoses, fittings, engines, motors, all working under high pressure for hours at a time. Most jobs that come in are one of these:
Pump service & repair
The pump is the heart of the unit. We strip it, check for wear, replace what needs replacing, and pressure test before it leaves the bench.
Loss of pressure
If your cleaner is pulsing, surging, or just not building pressure like it used to, we'll find the cause and sort it.
Leaks & drips
Water leaking from the pump, the gun, the hose connections, or the lance. Usually a worn seal or fitting. Quick fix once we've got it on the bench.
Routine servicing
Pressure cleaners need regular maintenance to keep running properly. Most people skip it. We'll bring yours back up to spec.
Hose, lance & gun repair
The bits you handle take the most punishment. Leaking guns, damaged lances, split hoses. Genuine replacements where needed.
Engine & motor service
Petrol engine won't start? Electric motor cutting out? We service the engine end, not just the pump.
A note for Canning Vale pressure cleaner owners
Canning Vale is a mix of established residential, beachfront blocks, and trades running out of home workshops. Plenty of cleaners and detailers along the coast, plus the usual run of homeowners with their once-a-month patio blast.
Salt air is the recurring issue down here. The brass fittings on most pressure cleaners corrode from the outside in if you don't rinse the unit with fresh water after a coastal job. We see Canning Vale pumps with seized swivel fittings and locked-up trigger guns more than anywhere else in the south.
Brands we service
Karcher · Gerni · Stihl · Bar · Honda · Generac · Bosch · Ryobi · AR Blue Clean
If it's a pressure cleaner and it's broken, we can have a look. Petrol or electric, residential or commercial, doesn't matter where you bought it.
Trigger gun quality is invisible until it fails
The trigger gun is the part you actually hold for hours. Cheap guns crack, leak, and break. Quality guns last the life of the unit.
The trigger gun does two jobs. It controls when water flows (you press the trigger to clean, release to stop). It also handles the pressure differential, the high pressure on the input side, low or no pressure on the output when the trigger is released.
Cheap trigger guns fail in predictable ways. Cracks at the handle from squeeze pressure. Trigger return spring weakens over time. Internal seals leak after a year or two of use. Plastic fatigue from UV exposure.
What to look for in a quality trigger gun:
- Material. Glass-filled nylon or reinforced plastic, not bare moulded plastic.
- Trigger mechanism. Smooth squeeze, firm spring return when released. No play in the trigger.
- Safety lock. Functional, easy to engage and disengage one-handed.
- Comfort grip. Rubber or moulded grip that's comfortable for extended holding.
- Brand or model markings. Suter, ST, Karcher, Stihl, or similar known brand. Generic unmarked guns are usually low quality.
- Pressure rating exceeds unit output. Should be on the gun somewhere.
- Connection threads visible. M22 or 3/8 inch BSP, brass thread, not plastic.
Red flags:
- "One-piece moulded" guns. Cheap to make, hard to repair when something fails.
- Trigger feels rough or notchy. Will only get worse.
- Visible flashing or rough finish on plastic. Quality control issues likely throughout.
- No mention of replaceable seals or rebuild kits. When it fails, you'll replace the whole gun rather than serviceable rebuild.
A good trigger gun, like a good pump, is rebuildable. The internal seals are replaceable. Springs can be replaced. The casing is durable. When something wears, you fix that one part rather than replacing the whole gun.
Quality replacement guns cost 50 to 150 dollars, often 30 to 50% more than the cheap one that came with a budget unit. Worth it.
One thing to consider: many pressure cleaners come with proprietary connections that lock you into their brand's accessories. Ones with universal M22 or 3/8 BSP connections give you flexibility to upgrade or use aftermarket guns and accessories. Worth checking before purchase.
The trigger gun is the part you'll spend the most time interacting with. Skimping here is false economy.

Common questions
Do you pick up from Canning Vale?
Yep. Pickup and delivery available across Canning Vale. We've been running services through this part of Perth for years.
How much does a pressure cleaner repair cost?
Depends on what's wrong and what brand you've got. Once we've stripped it on the bench, we ring you with a fixed price before doing any work. No hourly charging, no surprises.
My pressure cleaner won't build pressure. Worth fixing?
Almost always yes. Most "no pressure" jobs are unloader valves, worn pump seals, or blocked nozzles. None of those are expensive fixes on a decent unit. We'll have a look and tell you straight if it's not worth it.
How often should I service my pressure cleaner?
Annual oil change at minimum on the pump end. Tradies running them daily should service the pump every 6 months. Most homeowners never service theirs, which is why pumps fail at 5 years instead of 15.
Do you service electric pressure cleaners and commercial units?
Both. Karcher K-series and Bosch electrics, all the way up to Gerni and Stihl commercial petrol units. The pump end is similar across most of them, just different sizes and pressures.
How long does a repair take?
Usually back to you within a week. If parts have to come in (some of the European brands), we'll let you know.

Easiest is the online booking on this page. Pick a slot, leave your address, done. Or ring us on (08) 9444 1284.
