What a pressure cleaner service actually involves

Pressure cleaners cop a hammering. Pumps, hoses, fittings, engines, motors, all working under high pressure for hours at a time. Most jobs that come in are one of these:

Pump service & repair

The pump is the heart of the unit. We strip it, check for wear, replace what needs replacing, and pressure test before it leaves the bench.

Loss of pressure

If your cleaner is pulsing, surging, or just not building pressure like it used to, we'll find the cause and sort it.

Leaks & drips

Water leaking from the pump, the gun, the hose connections, or the lance. Usually a worn seal or fitting. Quick fix once we've got it on the bench.

Routine servicing

Pressure cleaners need regular maintenance to keep running properly. Most people skip it. We'll bring yours back up to spec.

Hose, lance & gun repair

The bits you handle take the most punishment. Leaking guns, damaged lances, split hoses. Genuine replacements where needed.

Engine & motor service

Petrol engine won't start? Electric motor cutting out? We service the engine end, not just the pump.

A note for Casuarina pressure cleaner owners

Casuarina is a mix of established residential, beachfront blocks, and trades running out of home workshops. Plenty of cleaners and detailers along the coast, plus the usual run of homeowners with their once-a-month patio blast.

Salt air is the recurring issue down here. The brass fittings on most pressure cleaners corrode from the outside in if you don't rinse the unit with fresh water after a coastal job. We see Casuarina pumps with seized swivel fittings and locked-up trigger guns more than anywhere else in the south.

Brands we service

Karcher · Gerni · Stihl · Bar · Honda · Generac · Bosch · Ryobi · AR Blue Clean

If it's a pressure cleaner and it's broken, we can have a look. Petrol or electric, residential or commercial, doesn't matter where you bought it.

The 60-second walk-around after every job

Tradies who run their gear daily catch problems before they become breakdowns. Same habit works for weekend users.

The walk-around takes a minute. Done after every job, it catches small problems while they're still small. Most failures we see in workshop are issues that were visible weeks before they actually stopped the unit working.

What to check, in order, after every job:

  1. Look under the unit for new puddles. A small drip during operation is normal on some cleaners. A puddle after the unit has been off for 5 minutes is a leak. Find which fitting or seal is leaking.
  2. Squeeze the high-pressure hose every metre or so. You're checking for soft spots. A soft spot means the inner tube has weakened and the hose is about to balloon and burst.
  3. Look at the trigger gun. Any cracks in the plastic? Trigger snapping back firmly when released? Any water dripping from the gun while at rest?
  4. Check the lance. Bent? Loose where it connects to the gun? Nozzle still intact?
  5. Look at the wheels and trolley frame. Bolts tight? No cracks in the frame? Wheels spinning freely?
  6. Petrol units: check oil level. Dipstick reading right? Any oil leaks under the engine?
  7. Electric units: check the cord. Any new abrasion or cuts? Plug undamaged?

If you find anything off, deal with it before next use. Cracked trigger, replace the gun. New puddle, find the source. Soft spot in the hose, retire the hose and order a new one.

The point isn't to catastrophise small issues. It's to avoid the situation where a small issue becomes a roadside breakdown halfway through next week's job.

Make it routine. Engine off, water off, walk around once before packing up. Becomes muscle memory after a fortnight of doing it.

Common questions

Do you pick up from Casuarina?

Yep. Pickup and delivery available across Casuarina. We've been running services through this part of Perth for years.

How much does a pressure cleaner repair cost?

Depends on what's wrong and what brand you've got. Once we've stripped it on the bench, we ring you with a fixed price before doing any work. No hourly charging, no surprises.

My pressure cleaner won't build pressure. Worth fixing?

Almost always yes. Most "no pressure" jobs are unloader valves, worn pump seals, or blocked nozzles. None of those are expensive fixes on a decent unit. We'll have a look and tell you straight if it's not worth it.

How often should I service my pressure cleaner?

Annual oil change at minimum on the pump end. Tradies running them daily should service the pump every 6 months. Most homeowners never service theirs, which is why pumps fail at 5 years instead of 15.

Do you service electric pressure cleaners and commercial units?

Both. Karcher K-series and Bosch electrics, all the way up to Gerni and Stihl commercial petrol units. The pump end is similar across most of them, just different sizes and pressures.

How long does a repair take?

Usually back to you within a week. If parts have to come in (some of the European brands), we'll let you know.

How do I book?

Easiest is the online booking on this page. Pick a slot, leave your address, done. Or ring us on (08) 9444 1284.
