What a pressure cleaner service actually involves
Pressure cleaners cop a hammering. Pumps, hoses, fittings, engines, motors, all working under high pressure for hours at a time. Most jobs that come in are one of these:
Pump service & repair
The pump is the heart of the unit. We strip it, check for wear, replace what needs replacing, and pressure test before it leaves the bench.
Loss of pressure
If your cleaner is pulsing, surging, or just not building pressure like it used to, we'll find the cause and sort it.
Leaks & drips
Water leaking from the pump, the gun, the hose connections, or the lance. Usually a worn seal or fitting. Quick fix once we've got it on the bench.
Routine servicing
Pressure cleaners need regular maintenance to keep running properly. Most people skip it. We'll bring yours back up to spec.
Hose, lance & gun repair
The bits you handle take the most punishment. Leaking guns, damaged lances, split hoses. Genuine replacements where needed.
Engine & motor service
Petrol engine won't start? Electric motor cutting out? We service the engine end, not just the pump.
A note for Henderson pressure cleaner owners
Henderson is a mix of established residential, beachfront blocks, and trades running out of home workshops. Plenty of cleaners and detailers along the coast, plus the usual run of homeowners with their once-a-month patio blast.
Salt air is the recurring issue down here. The brass fittings on most pressure cleaners corrode from the outside in if you don't rinse the unit with fresh water after a coastal job. We see Henderson pumps with seized swivel fittings and locked-up trigger guns more than anywhere else in the south.
Brands we service
Karcher · Gerni · Stihl · Bar · Honda · Generac · Bosch · Ryobi · AR Blue Clean
If it's a pressure cleaner and it's broken, we can have a look. Petrol or electric, residential or commercial, doesn't matter where you bought it.
Engine oil on a petrol pressure cleaner isn't optional
Most petrol pressure cleaner engines are 4-stroke. Like a car engine, they need oil. Unlike a car engine, they don't have a low-oil warning light. Run them low and they seize.
The engine on a petrol pressure cleaner is usually a Honda GX-series or similar small 4-stroke. These engines hold less than half a litre of oil. They're well-designed but they have a small margin for error. A bit of leakage, a bit of consumption over time, and you can be running on near-empty without realising.
Many newer units have a low-oil sensor that shuts the engine down if oil drops too low. Older units don't. Either way, ignoring oil is the fastest way to wreck the engine.
What you should be doing:
- Check oil before every use. Or at minimum, weekly during regular use. Pull the dipstick, wipe it, reinsert, pull again, check level.
- Change oil at recommended intervals. Most small engines want an oil change every 50 hours of operation, or annually for occasional users.
- Use the right oil. Most spec SAE 10W-30 or SAE 30 weight. Check the manual or the engine cover sticker.
- Watch the colour. New oil is honey-coloured. Used oil darkens. Black oil is overdue for change. Milky oil means water contamination, time for service.
How to check oil correctly. Engine off, unit on level ground for accurate reading. Pull the dipstick (often integrated into the oil fill cap). Wipe it clean. Insert without screwing it in (just rest it). Pull it out and read the oil mark. Should be between the upper and lower marks.
How to change oil. Engine warm but not hot. Drain plug at the bottom of the engine, drain into a container. Refit plug, refill through the dipstick hole with the right oil to the upper mark. Don't overfill, that's as bad as underfilling.
Disposal of used oil: take it to a service station with a used oil drop-off. Don't pour it down a drain or into the ground. Most places accept old oil for free.
Total cost: maybe 15 dollars a year for oil. Engine rebuild from running it dry: 400 to 800 dollars. The maths is simple.

Common questions
Do you pick up from Henderson?
Yep. Pickup and delivery available across Henderson. We've been running services through this part of Perth for years.
How much does a pressure cleaner repair cost?
Depends on what's wrong and what brand you've got. Once we've stripped it on the bench, we ring you with a fixed price before doing any work. No hourly charging, no surprises.
My pressure cleaner won't build pressure. Worth fixing?
Almost always yes. Most "no pressure" jobs are unloader valves, worn pump seals, or blocked nozzles. None of those are expensive fixes on a decent unit. We'll have a look and tell you straight if it's not worth it.
How often should I service my pressure cleaner?
Annual oil change at minimum on the pump end. Tradies running them daily should service the pump every 6 months. Most homeowners never service theirs, which is why pumps fail at 5 years instead of 15.
Do you service electric pressure cleaners and commercial units?
Both. Karcher K-series and Bosch electrics, all the way up to Gerni and Stihl commercial petrol units. The pump end is similar across most of them, just different sizes and pressures.
How long does a repair take?
Usually back to you within a week. If parts have to come in (some of the European brands), we'll let you know.

Easiest is the online booking on this page. Pick a slot, leave your address, done. Or ring us on (08) 9444 1284.
