What a pressure cleaner service actually involves
Pressure cleaners cop a hammering. Pumps, hoses, fittings, engines, motors, all working under high pressure for hours at a time. Most jobs that come in are one of these:
Pump service & repair
The pump is the heart of the unit. We strip it, check for wear, replace what needs replacing, and pressure test before it leaves the bench.
Loss of pressure
If your cleaner is pulsing, surging, or just not building pressure like it used to, we'll find the cause and sort it.
Leaks & drips
Water leaking from the pump, the gun, the hose connections, or the lance. Usually a worn seal or fitting. Quick fix once we've got it on the bench.
Routine servicing
Pressure cleaners need regular maintenance to keep running properly. Most people skip it. We'll bring yours back up to spec.
Hose, lance & gun repair
The bits you handle take the most punishment. Leaking guns, damaged lances, split hoses. Genuine replacements where needed.
Engine & motor service
Petrol engine won't start? Electric motor cutting out? We service the engine end, not just the pump.
A note for Palmyra pressure cleaner owners
Palmyra is a mix of established residential, beachfront blocks, and trades running out of home workshops. Plenty of cleaners and detailers along the coast, plus the usual run of homeowners with their once-a-month patio blast.
Salt air is the recurring issue down here. The brass fittings on most pressure cleaners corrode from the outside in if you don't rinse the unit with fresh water after a coastal job. We see Palmyra pumps with seized swivel fittings and locked-up trigger guns more than anywhere else in the south.
Brands we service
Karcher · Gerni · Stihl · Bar · Honda · Generac · Bosch · Ryobi · AR Blue Clean
If it's a pressure cleaner and it's broken, we can have a look. Petrol or electric, residential or commercial, doesn't matter where you bought it.
How you transport it affects how it performs
Tradies who throw their pressure cleaner in the back of the ute every day get half the lifespan of those who secure it properly. Same for anyone who tips the unit on its side to fit it in the boot.
Pressure cleaners are designed to operate upright on flat surfaces. Transport that doesn't respect this damages the unit, sometimes invisibly.
What can go wrong during transport:
- Engine oil migration. Tipping a petrol unit on its side lets oil run into places it shouldn't be (intake, exhaust, air filter housing). Hard to start afterwards, often runs rough until oil burns out of the wrong places.
- Fuel leaking out the tank vent. Not just messy, dangerous if it pools and ignites.
- Pump damage from impacts. Banging around in a ute tray or boot puts shock loads on the pump that can damage internal components.
- Hose damage. Hose loose in transport gets crushed, kinked, or abraded against other gear.
- Trigger gun damage. Easily cracked if it lands wrong or has heavy gear thrown on top.
- Battery damage on cordless units. Heat in a closed vehicle, plus impacts, equals reduced battery life.
Proper transport practices:
- Keep it upright. Always. Don't lay it on its side.
- Strap it down. Ratchet straps or load straps anchored to ute tie-down points. The unit shouldn't slide around.
- Cushion it from other gear. Don't let metal tools, ladders, or other heavy items rest against the cleaner.
- Coil hoses properly and stow them. Don't leave them dangling out of the tray.
- Remove batteries on cordless units. Carry batteries inside the cab, especially in summer. Hot ute trays kill lithium batteries fast.
- Petrol units: check fuel cap is tight. Loose caps leak fuel during transport.
- For long trips, cover it. Reduces dust and bug accumulation on hoses and fittings.
If you're a tradie running pressure cleaners daily, consider a proper rack or trolley fitted to the ute tray. They're 200 to 600 dollars but they pay back in equipment longevity.
Alternatively, dedicated trailers for cleaning gear are popular in commercial cleaning. Easier to keep gear secure, easier to load and unload, and you can drop the trailer at one site while you go to another.
However you transport, the principle is the same: equipment treated as cargo lasts longer than equipment treated as freight.

Common questions
Do you pick up from Palmyra?
Yep. Pickup and delivery available across Palmyra. We've been running services through this part of Perth for years.
How much does a pressure cleaner repair cost?
Depends on what's wrong and what brand you've got. Once we've stripped it on the bench, we ring you with a fixed price before doing any work. No hourly charging, no surprises.
My pressure cleaner won't build pressure. Worth fixing?
Almost always yes. Most "no pressure" jobs are unloader valves, worn pump seals, or blocked nozzles. None of those are expensive fixes on a decent unit. We'll have a look and tell you straight if it's not worth it.
How often should I service my pressure cleaner?
Annual oil change at minimum on the pump end. Tradies running them daily should service the pump every 6 months. Most homeowners never service theirs, which is why pumps fail at 5 years instead of 15.
Do you service electric pressure cleaners and commercial units?
Both. Karcher K-series and Bosch electrics, all the way up to Gerni and Stihl commercial petrol units. The pump end is similar across most of them, just different sizes and pressures.
How long does a repair take?
Usually back to you within a week. If parts have to come in (some of the European brands), we'll let you know.

Easiest is the online booking on this page. Pick a slot, leave your address, done. Or ring us on (08) 9444 1284.
