What a pressure cleaner service actually involves
Pressure cleaners cop a hammering. Pumps, hoses, fittings, engines, motors, all working under high pressure for hours at a time. Most jobs that come in are one of these:
Pump service & repair
The pump is the heart of the unit. We strip it, check for wear, replace what needs replacing, and pressure test before it leaves the bench.
Loss of pressure
If your cleaner is pulsing, surging, or just not building pressure like it used to, we'll find the cause and sort it.
Leaks & drips
Water leaking from the pump, the gun, the hose connections, or the lance. Usually a worn seal or fitting. Quick fix once we've got it on the bench.
Routine servicing
Pressure cleaners need regular maintenance to keep running properly. Most people skip it. We'll bring yours back up to spec.
Hose, lance & gun repair
The bits you handle take the most punishment. Leaking guns, damaged lances, split hoses. Genuine replacements where needed.
Engine & motor service
Petrol engine won't start? Electric motor cutting out? We service the engine end, not just the pump.
A note for Rossmoyne pressure cleaner owners
Rossmoyne is a mix of established residential, beachfront blocks, and trades running out of home workshops. Plenty of cleaners and detailers along the coast, plus the usual run of homeowners with their once-a-month patio blast.
Salt air is the recurring issue down here. The brass fittings on most pressure cleaners corrode from the outside in if you don't rinse the unit with fresh water after a coastal job. We see Rossmoyne pumps with seized swivel fittings and locked-up trigger guns more than anywhere else in the south.
Brands we service
Karcher · Gerni · Stihl · Bar · Honda · Generac · Bosch · Ryobi · AR Blue Clean
If it's a pressure cleaner and it's broken, we can have a look. Petrol or electric, residential or commercial, doesn't matter where you bought it.
Flow rate matters more than people think
Two pressure cleaners with the same PSI rating can clean very differently if their flow rates differ. Most marketing buries flow rate in the small print.
Cleaning effectiveness depends on two things: the pressure of the water hitting the surface, and the volume of water doing the cleaning. PSI is the pressure. Flow rate (in litres per minute or LPM) is the volume.
Think of it this way. A 2,000 PSI cleaner with 6 LPM is using less water with high pressure to do the work. A 2,000 PSI cleaner with 9 LPM is using more water at the same pressure. The 9 LPM unit cleans faster and rinses better, even at identical PSI.
Typical flow rates by category:
- Cheap domestic electric: 5 to 6 LPM
- Better domestic electric: 6 to 8 LPM
- Domestic petrol: 8 to 10 LPM
- Prosumer petrol: 10 to 14 LPM
- Commercial petrol: 14 to 20 LPM
- Heavy commercial / industrial: 20+ LPM
If you're choosing between two units at similar prices and similar PSI, the higher flow rate usually wins. You'll get faster work done, better rinse-off, and the pump generally lasts longer because it isn't running at maximum pressure constantly to compensate for low flow.
Where flow rate matters most:
- Surface cleaners. A 16-inch surface cleaner needs at least 8 LPM to work properly. Less and the cleaning is poor.
- Long jobs. Higher flow finishes faster, less operator fatigue.
- Rinsing chemicals. Higher flow rinses chemical residues more effectively.
- Tough surfaces. Some grime needs water volume more than pressure to dislodge.
Your inlet supply determines the maximum flow you can practically use. There's no point buying a 15 LPM commercial unit if your tap can only deliver 8 LPM. Test your tap flow first (fill a 10 litre bucket, time it) before buying.
The takeaway: when reading specs, look at the flow rate as well as the pressure. A unit with both decent pressure and decent flow does better cleaning than a unit chasing one spec at the cost of the other.

Common questions
Do you pick up from Rossmoyne?
Yep. Pickup and delivery available across Rossmoyne. We've been running services through this part of Perth for years.
How much does a pressure cleaner repair cost?
Depends on what's wrong and what brand you've got. Once we've stripped it on the bench, we ring you with a fixed price before doing any work. No hourly charging, no surprises.
My pressure cleaner won't build pressure. Worth fixing?
Almost always yes. Most "no pressure" jobs are unloader valves, worn pump seals, or blocked nozzles. None of those are expensive fixes on a decent unit. We'll have a look and tell you straight if it's not worth it.
How often should I service my pressure cleaner?
Annual oil change at minimum on the pump end. Tradies running them daily should service the pump every 6 months. Most homeowners never service theirs, which is why pumps fail at 5 years instead of 15.
Do you service electric pressure cleaners and commercial units?
Both. Karcher K-series and Bosch electrics, all the way up to Gerni and Stihl commercial petrol units. The pump end is similar across most of them, just different sizes and pressures.
How long does a repair take?
Usually back to you within a week. If parts have to come in (some of the European brands), we'll let you know.

Easiest is the online booking on this page. Pick a slot, leave your address, done. Or ring us on (08) 9444 1284.
