What a pressure cleaner service actually involves
Pressure cleaners cop a hammering. Pumps, hoses, fittings, engines, motors, all working under high pressure for hours at a time. Most jobs that come in are one of these:
Pump service & repair
The pump is the heart of the unit. We strip it, check for wear, replace what needs replacing, and pressure test before it leaves the bench.
Loss of pressure
If your cleaner is pulsing, surging, or just not building pressure like it used to, we'll find the cause and sort it.
Leaks & drips
Water leaking from the pump, the gun, the hose connections, or the lance. Usually a worn seal or fitting. Quick fix once we've got it on the bench.
Routine servicing
Pressure cleaners need regular maintenance to keep running properly. Most people skip it. We'll bring yours back up to spec.
Hose, lance & gun repair
The bits you handle take the most punishment. Leaking guns, damaged lances, split hoses. Genuine replacements where needed.
Engine & motor service
Petrol engine won't start? Electric motor cutting out? We service the engine end, not just the pump.
A note for Samson pressure cleaner owners
Samson is a mix of established residential, beachfront blocks, and trades running out of home workshops. Plenty of cleaners and detailers along the coast, plus the usual run of homeowners with their once-a-month patio blast.
Salt air is the recurring issue down here. The brass fittings on most pressure cleaners corrode from the outside in if you don't rinse the unit with fresh water after a coastal job. We see Samson pumps with seized swivel fittings and locked-up trigger guns more than anywhere else in the south.
Brands we service
Karcher · Gerni · Stihl · Bar · Honda · Generac · Bosch · Ryobi · AR Blue Clean
If it's a pressure cleaner and it's broken, we can have a look. Petrol or electric, residential or commercial, doesn't matter where you bought it.
Track your hours even if it feels silly
Most maintenance schedules are based on operating hours. Most owners have no idea how many hours their unit has done. Easy to fix.
Manufacturer service intervals are written in hours of operation, not years. "First oil change at 5 hours." "Air filter every 25 hours." "Pump rebuild at 200 hours." These numbers are meaningless if you don't know how many hours your unit has done.
Some commercial units have built-in hour meters. Most domestic and prosumer units don't. Doesn't mean you can't track hours, just means you have to do it yourself.
The simplest way: a logbook taped to the unit or kept nearby. After every job, write date and rough duration. "5 May 2026, 45 minutes, driveway clean." Add it up monthly or quarterly to know cumulative hours.
If you're not into logbooks, an even simpler approach: write usage on the unit itself with a permanent marker.
For petrol units, you can buy a clip-on hour meter that wraps around the spark plug wire. Counts running hours automatically. About 25 to 50 dollars from auto stores or online. Mounts in seconds, no wiring required, runs on its own internal battery for years.
Why bothering with this is worth it:
- You service at the right intervals. Catches small problems before they become big ones.
- You know when warranty applies. Some warranties have hour limits. If you're under, you might still have coverage.
- You know when to replace consumables. Hoses, seals, plugs, filters, all have hour-based intervals.
- You make better buying decisions next time. If your unit lasted 800 hours over 4 years, you know what to expect from the next one.
- Resale value goes up. A unit with documented hours and service history sells for more than an unknown one.
The mental shift: pressure cleaners aren't furniture, they're machinery. Machinery has consumables, wear cycles, and service intervals. Once you start thinking of yours that way, the hour tracking and service scheduling becomes natural.
Five seconds after each job. Build the habit. Pays off for years.

Common questions
Do you pick up from Samson?
Yep. Pickup and delivery available across Samson. We've been running services through this part of Perth for years.
How much does a pressure cleaner repair cost?
Depends on what's wrong and what brand you've got. Once we've stripped it on the bench, we ring you with a fixed price before doing any work. No hourly charging, no surprises.
My pressure cleaner won't build pressure. Worth fixing?
Almost always yes. Most "no pressure" jobs are unloader valves, worn pump seals, or blocked nozzles. None of those are expensive fixes on a decent unit. We'll have a look and tell you straight if it's not worth it.
How often should I service my pressure cleaner?
Annual oil change at minimum on the pump end. Tradies running them daily should service the pump every 6 months. Most homeowners never service theirs, which is why pumps fail at 5 years instead of 15.
Do you service electric pressure cleaners and commercial units?
Both. Karcher K-series and Bosch electrics, all the way up to Gerni and Stihl commercial petrol units. The pump end is similar across most of them, just different sizes and pressures.
How long does a repair take?
Usually back to you within a week. If parts have to come in (some of the European brands), we'll let you know.
How do I book?
Easiest is the online booking on this page. Pick a slot, leave your address, done. Or ring us on (08) 9444 1284.
We also service pressure cleaners in nearby suburbs: Rockingham · Safety Bay · Waikiki · Port Kennedy · Shoalwater
